Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy which utilizes the creative process of making art – collage, pencil drawing, painting etc. – can expand and improve one person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Creative expression:
- Identifies and labels feelings that might be elusive to the individual.
- Provides access to expressing feelings which are otherwise difficult to discuss.
- Achieves insights and greater understanding about feelings, thoughts and behavior.
- Helps with identifying patterns that can keep an individual “stuck”.

- Can help with developing understanding, compassion and acceptance of oneself and others.
- Provides opportunities for change and growth.
- Helps one learn how to have fun.
