Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT):
- Uses Mindfulness to help individuals focus on behaviours that are consistent with their values (Mindfulness is a form of awareness of one’s thoughts and feelings as they are actually experienced in the present moment).
- Helps individuals recognize ways in which attempts to suppress, manage, and control emotional experiences can create or contribute to existing challenges.
- Focuses on acceptance of things as they are, without evaluating or attempting to change them.
